Why not a slip for a longer skirt?
Bought this to see if it would work alone as a skirt. Hmmmm, maybe for a teen, but definitely not for me. However, I do have a lot of midi length skirts, and mostly I like them full and breezy, never clingy. But sometimes after sitting awhile, we all know about the stuck to the seat of your pants problem. I'd gotten away from slips over the years. Too hot and clingy underneath so most ladies go slip-less these days. Though I despair for some who don't appreciate the results of being back-lit. But sheer or not so sheer, we're all still, on occasion, picking our seats when we stand in a skirt. I wondered how this item would work under a couple of my fuller skirts that I like to have a little movement to when I walk. Turns out, I think I like it!!!
Perhaps those gals in the 50's knew a thing or two about clothes. Perhaps, we lost something along the way in our quest to wear less and said toodles to tulle. Ok, pantaloons, chemises, girdles, corsettes, and stockings definitely had to go their merry ways. But, I think there's still a place in our style IQs for the occasional feminine swish and flare of a cute skirt that remains free to billow and not get stuck in a rut.
